2. About The Role

As a Mid-level Digital Designer at Project Pluto, you'll be a key creative force translating complex expertise into clear, compelling visual systems that build trust and credibility for knowledge-driven B2B companies. You'll lead design projects from concept to delivery, working directly with clients across agriculture, industrial, education, and professional services to make their expertise visible, believable, and impossible to ignore.

This role requires both exceptional craft and strategic thinking. You'll own the visual execution of major client engagements, present work confidently to stakeholders, mentor junior designers, and contribute to how we approach knowledge communication design as a practice. You'll have significant creative autonomy while collaborating closely with our strategy and creative leadership teams.

3. Role and Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Join end-to-end design execution for complex branding and knowledge communication projects across multiple touchpoints
• Create comprehensive brand identity systems including logos, typography, color systems, and visual guidelines that communicate credibility and clarity
• Design sophisticated information design solutions—infographics, data visualizations, process diagrams, and technical illustrations—that make complex concepts accessible
• Develop multi-page publications, reports, white papers, and case studies with advanced layout, typography, and information architecture
• Create compelling sales enablement materials, presentations, and pitch decks that help clients communicate value to diverse stakeholder groups
• Design print collateral including brochures, one-pagers, signage, and event materials with attention to production requirements
• Produce high-quality social media content and digital assets optimized for B2B platforms, particularly LinkedIn
• Create engaging animations for social media and presentations using tools like After Effects or Jitter
• Present design work to clients, articulating strategic rationale and incorporating feedback with professionalism and diplomacy
• Collaborate with strategists, writers, and developers to ensure cohesive project delivery
• Maintain and evolve client design systems, ensuring consistency across all brand touchpoints
• Mentor junior designers, providing constructive feedback and guidance on craft and process
• Contribute to internal design standards, processes, templates, and quality benchmarks
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations
• Stay current with design trends, tools, and methodologies in B2B marketing and knowledge communication

• Take ownership of key client relationships, becoming their trusted creative partner beyond individual projects
• Lead discovery and concepting phases, translating business challenges into creative briefs and design strategies
• Develop specialized expertise in specific industries (agriculture, industrial, education) to become our go-to expert
• Create immersive 3D visuals and animations using Blender or Spline for product visualization or explainer content
• Explore and pioneer new approaches to knowledge communication—interactive experiences, 3D visualization, AI-enhanced workflows
• Contribute to new business development through case study creation, portfolio presentations, and pitch support
• Train and develop the next generation of designers through structured mentorship programs
• Shape Project Pluto's creative voice by leading internal initiatives, workshops, or thought leadership content
• Grow toward Creative Director or Principal Designer roles with increasing strategic and leadership responsibilities
• Represent Project Pluto at industry events, conferences, or speaking engagements
• Partner with leadership on agency positioning, service offerings, and creative differentiation

1. Essential:

• 3+ years of professional design experience, preferably in agency, B2B, or knowledge-intensive industries
• Outstanding portfolio demonstrating sophisticated branding, information design, and visual communication work—particularly projects that made complex topics clear and compelling
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with mastery of typography, layout, and production
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including design systems, components, prototyping, and team collaboration
• Ability to utilize other tools like Canva to enhance productivity
• Proven ability to lead projects independently from concept through delivery
• Strong understanding of brand strategy and how design decisions support business objectives
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers
• Meticulous attention to detail with high standards for craft and execution
• Strategic thinker who can balance creativity with business constraints
• Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working in a remote environment
• Proficient in project management tools (Notion, Asana, or similar) and Google Workspace

2. Preferred:

• Experience in B2B design, technical communication, or working with knowledge-intensive clients
• Background in information design, data visualization, or editorial design
• Illustration or custom iconography skills
• Experience creating motion graphics and animations for social media or digital platforms using After Effects, Jitter, or similar tools
• 3D design and visualization skills using Blender, Spline
• Understanding of web design principles and responsive design
• Experience with print production, prepress, and vendor management
• Familiarity with AI design tools and their strategic application
• Experience in agriculture, industrial, education, or professional services sectors
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
