HASI Strengthens B2B Linkages with Japanese FDI Enterprises

On September 16, at the Innovation Hub, Long Hau Center, the Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industries Association (HASI), in collaboration with Long Hau Industrial Park, Arup, Kyouwa Vietnam and Sato Vietnam Solutions, organized the program “Hands-on Experience with Smart Automation and Traceability Solutions.”

The program brought together more than 100 enterprises, including nearly 20 HASI member companies. In addition to gaining first-hand exposure to advanced technology solutions, participating businesses had the opportunity to engage directly with Arup, Kyouwa Vietnam and Sato Vietnam Solutions through targeted B2B interactions aimed at identifying practical areas for cooperation.

Mr. Trần Quốc Duy, Deputy Chief of Office of HASI and the person responsible for the Association’s trade promotion and international cooperation activities, said that ahead of the program, he had worked closely with Long Hau Industrial Park to assess the purchasing, sourcing and cooperation needs of two Japanese FDI enterprises, Kyouwa Vietnam and Sato Vietnam Solutions.

Based on the specific requirements identified from these FDI enterprises, Mr. Duy conducted a review and screening process and invited nearly 20 HASI member companies whose capabilities, products or cooperation needs were considered relevant. This targeted B2B matching approach was initiated by Mr. Duy and was highly appreciated by Long Hau Industrial Park for its practical and demand-driven nature.

The initiative was designed to enhance the effectiveness of business matching by facilitating B2B discussions around clearly identified needs and potential areas of cooperation, rather than limiting engagement to general networking or information exchange. By identifying buyer and supplier requirements in advance and selectively inviting relevant companies, the approach helped create more focused and substantive opportunities for business engagement.

Alongside the B2B activities, the program introduced participating enterprises to a practical digital factory model, offering particular relevance to companies preparing to expand, renovate or relocate their manufacturing facilities.

Rather than focusing solely on theoretical presentations, the program placed strong emphasis on hands-on experience. Participants were able to observe machinery, equipment and automation solutions in actual operation and assess their potential applicability to specific challenges related to production, productivity, quality management and traceability within their own businesses.

During the event, Mr. Nguyễn Sỹ Dương, Project Manager at Kyouwa Vietnam Co., Ltd., presented automation solutions and production lines for the food industry. Mr. Felix Chan, Head of Sustainable Digital Technologies at Arup, shared insights into the application of artificial intelligence in support of the transition toward zero-carbon operations.
