I. JOB DESCRIPTION

POPS Worldwide is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Head of Brand with proven achievement in brand strategy, product marketing and entertainment. At POPS, you will join a company leading digital entertainment in Southeast Asia and be responsible for accelerating our growth and increasing company value through strategic branding initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the strategic communication pipeline for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead consumer marketing effort and ensure consistent and rational brand communications across content verticals and regions both online and offline
  • Reporting to the CEO, this individual will work cross functionally to influence consistent branding across the organization and throughout all subsidiaries
  • Strategically drive shareholder value by elevated brand recognition internally and externally
  • Set short and long-term brand objectives, strategies and action plans
  • Generate consumer insights through research, category and competitive analysis, and POS data
  • Clearly articulate brand objectives and strategies; Identify key product drivers and develop “go to market” strategies
  • Developing marketing strategies and plans based on how consumers make decisions and serving consumer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Developing and recommending the vision and key strategies for the brand
  • Translating consumer insights into the development of new ideas and products
  • Represent and create opportunities to promote POPS at industry, tradeshows and similar events
  • Conceptualize ad-hoc new business products
  • Develop strong mission, vision and values by strongly coordinating with business unit leaders and board of management
  • Monitor broad market trends, research consumer markets and competitor activities to identify opportunities, key challenges and develop GTM and counter-actions for them
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and risks internally and externally
  • Align the company around the brand’s direction, choices and tactics
  • Create and execute on strategic brand operating plan
  • Increase corporate and product brand equity over the long-term
  • Consumer promotions – work with business unit leads to execute on consumer activations
  • Some travel might be required

Coordinate with product leadership, subordinates and other teams related to implementing strategic marketing & PR online and offline, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder commitment to achieve the company’s ambitious targets
  • Conceptualize: Define the brand marketing strategy and roadmap
  • Learn: Develop strong subject matter expertise across all current and future verticals – comedy, beauty, lifestyle, gaming, music and so on
  • Adapt: Be an adaptable, steady decision-maker despite a highly competitive and fast-moving environment
  • Plan: Deliver marketing requirements documents and product requirements documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification. Work with creative teams, in house or agency, to create branding collateral, ensuring that the collateral is on brand and within budget.
  • Execute: Plan and execute online promotions through Social Media, SEO / SEM, Mobile ad-network, Email Marketing, Video ads and so on
  • Prioritize: Balance quick wins with platform investments 

  • Team Up!: A results-oriented team player with strong organizational and time management skills, always on the lookout to lead the company into new opportunities. Build relationships with influencers, ranging from creators to media contacts, bloggers and so on
  • Assess: Integrate analysis reports after completing any activity and develop direction for the next campaign. Measure the effectiveness of communication channels and strategies and make appropriate adjustments
  • Iterate: Develop the core positioning and messaging for the brand with a hands­on approach to continuous improvement
  • Forecast: Set and meet brand equity value goals. Propose an overall budget to ensure success. Set key metrics.
  • Story-tell: Develop audience research, narratives, and segmenting capabilities that help make our digital experiences more valuable to content partners
  • Cultivate: Recruit, develop, organize and nurture a strong marketing team ­­ plan, monitor and appraise job results 

  • Ethos: Be a leader within the company and do the right thing for stakeholders and further the greater good for all
  • Other duties by request from CEO, CMO, COO or BOD

II. REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 10 years in the field of marketing and communications including at least 5 years of experience in a management position
  • Proven working experience as a brand manager or associate brand manager at a well-recognized market segment leader
  • Highly creative with an ability to think out of the box
  • Experienced in successful execution of marketing campaigns on key marketing online channels (SEO, PPC, Email, Facebook, Ad networks, PR, etc.)
  • Sound business judgment
  • Experience in entertainment and/or media markets is a bonus
  • Analytical, data-driven thinker who seeks innovative solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent English competency
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience in handling large, diverse marketing budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment
  • Mastery of digital marketing strategy framework and media planning
  • Passion and curiosity for digital marketing innovation
