Art Director

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Art Director. One with agency or publishing experience who can lead the art team for all WCC clients, with a focus on content marketing and branding. The successful candidate will work with the Creative Director and creative teams to come up with original concepts in response to client briefs, while being responsible for the visual languages of content campaigns across print and digital. Importantly, the Art Director will maintain the highest international design standards while working within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manage junior design staff and be responsible for their career development

  • Generate original and inspired ideas and concepts with the Creative Director and creative teams - working with video, photography, typography, illustration, animation and web design across print, digital and offline platforms

  • Lead the artwork for client pitches, including concepts, sketches, moods, storyboards and sign off on final product

  • Understand the latest marketing initiatives and demands of target audience, and continuously scout for design/industry talent to hire

  • Take work from concept to final execution within deadlines and budget while maintaining the highest international design standards

  • Manage and delegate responsibilities to other WCC designers and provide direction, feedback and appraisals

  • Present completed ideas to clients/team members during internal and external pitches

  • Stay on top of all trends and maintain best practices

Requirements

  • Proven agency or publishing working experience as Art Director or Deputy Art Director, managing teams and budgets

  • Hands-on experience working with video, photography, typography, illustration, animation and web design across print, digital and offline platforms

  • Proficient use of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, plus other visual design and wireframing tools

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio across different industries

  • Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well

  • Team player with strong communication and pitching skills in English and preferably Vietnamese

  • Relevant education or training
