The Position: Head of Digital Strategy:

As Head of Digital Strategy, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing the digital strategy and experiences to deliver creative connections between our client’s brands and consumers
  • Management & performance optimization of the longer-term digital engagement platforms for key clients
  • Execution and delivery of our interactive media products including display media, social media, SEM, performance/lead generation media etc. with a range of internal colleagues and external partners
  • Overseeing the production of content and digital assets in partnership with our team

The Digital Director is a member of the Vietnam Executive Committee (ExCo) responsible for all matters of company management. The ExCo is led by the Vietnam Managing Director, Christopher Elkin, who reports to the Edge Asia Group CEO.

Key responsibilities and basic qualifications:

Interactive Strategy, Planning, Ideation and Concepts

  • Working with the Client Service, Creative, Advertising Services, Contact Center, Content/Engagement and Production teams, respond to client briefs and new business pitches by recommending and developing creative digital communication solutions using the appropriate existing or new media channels. Recommend timelines and budgets for briefs and pitches.
  • Understand the client’s key business challenges and brief and develop digital solutions across all channels. This includes campaign briefs with objectives, challenges, target insights, perception & behavior goals, as well as solutions that encompass longer-term digital engagement programs and platforms.
  • Facilitate brainstorm meetings with client service team, creative team and other non-digital departments to develop concepts.
  • Prepare proposals, present proposals & ideas alongside Account Service team.
  • Ideation advisor to the Creative Director and team for key digital work, with the objective of improving the digital creativity of the agency
  • Responsible for the on-going management and performance optimization of participation platforms that we develop to drive long term engagement and relationships between our clients and their target consumers/ customers.
  • Identify and integrate interactive product(s) and best practices for the agency from other Edge Asia companies.
  • Shape the direction of our interactive service offerings with the ExCo leadership team.
  • Knowledge leadership in all things digital. Keep updated on digital innovations and best practice campaigns in the marketplace and the global industry and raise the profile of Edge as THE subject matter expert.

Department Head Role

As department head you will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting, training, retaining, motivating and managing all staff in the business units directly under your supervision. The vision, mission and KPI’s need to be clearly communicated to all staff, and these staff will need to have formal performance reviews at least once a year.
  • Set priorities for the division, identify ways of working and implement these plans
  • Manage relationships with key vendors and technology partners. Identify any needs for further partnerships, find appropriate partners and manage those new relationships
  • Implement schemes to monitor project performance and take action on performance feedback
  • Ensure client satisfaction, and at the same time ensure agency profitability. This will mean balancing the service against the revenue for each client, and agreeing together with the Client Service Teams effective, fair and solid contracts with each client that will allow the company to make an acceptable profit margin.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing cohesive digital strategies across a variety of online channels
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing execution of digital strategy
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of how to effectively use social media monitoring tools to listen to conversations and develop qualitative consumer insights
  • Ability to identify and quantify the appropriate metrics to determine success in the appropriate space
  • Ability to serve as the internal digital expert in interactive communications providing guidance to the client service, strategic planning, creative & production and counsel to the broader organization
  • Demonstrated project management skills, having worked with both creative and conceptual projects to deliver projects on-strategy and on-time
  • Experience in facebook fan page engagement
  • Experience in managing a team, leading project teams and working with outside agencies
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in challenging situations that require creativity, innovation, drive and commitment
  • Demonstrated success at working with tight deadlines.
  • Minimum 5 years digital experience
